PROGRAM DIRECTOR’S

WELCOME

Welcome to the Mount Sinai Beth Israel (MSBI) Emergency Medicine Residency, university affiliate of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. We have a well-established residency program that began in 1989. We are a PGY 1, 2, 3 format with 15 residents per year.

Our mission is to train residents to become the best emergency physicians who are prepared to practice emergency medicine in any kind of setting. The key to our program is diversity. Our residents are exposed to a very diverse patient population at MSBI, including high acuity clinical cases and various pathology. Our residents also experience emergency medicine at a variety of clinical sites, therefore allowing them to become clinically adaptable and ready to face the real world when they finish our training program. Our graduates have advanced their careers by completing fellowships, obtaining hospital and departmental administrative roles, acquiring additional degrees and entrepreneurship. We have a very diverse group of faculty who have expertise in numerous subspecialty areas such as administration, critical care, ethics, medical education, pediatrics, simulation and ultrasound. Our faculty are excellent educators who are committed to enhancing the learning environment within our program.

As a Program Director, I can tell you that there are so many special and unique aspects to our program. I love being a Program Director and it truly is because of our amazing residents! They are an incredible group of individuals who are passionate about emergency medicine, driven to enhance their knowledge and take pride in making this the best program that it can be! They sincerely care for each other and want everyone to succeed. It is truly like a family.

Are YOU ready to join the MSBI Emergency Medicine family?
