Thank you for your interest in Beth Israel’s Emergency Medicine program. We are located in the heart of downtown New York City in Manhattan’s busiest adult ED with over 110,000 patients seen per year, offering the full range of patients and procedures. Students will gain experience on the front lines of medicine seeing undifferentiated patients as they walk – and are wheeled through – the Emergency Department doors. Guided by experienced clinicians who know that there is no substitute for hands-on learning, the student gains increasing autonomy, confidence and skill. Beth Israel was a central hub of emergency medical care in Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy and 9/11, and the staff remains seasoned by the ongoing battles against aging, disease and accident. After a recent top-to-bottom renovation, the BI ED boasts state-of-the-art trauma bays, imaging, and computer systems. Come downtown to where the action is!
